What To Expect

Medieval City

From the pier (or your selected starting point) we drive for a short detour via the Medieval City (World Heritage Site) where you can get your pictures from outside of the most important monuments. ATTENTION: if you start the tour after 8:30 AM, we’ll skip the short visit/drive in the Old Town as the Gates closes for cars at 9:00 AM - after 9:00 AM only pedestrians can walk in. We can finish the tour later at the gate of the Medieval City so you can visit it and walk back to the ship. The Old Town from the Cruise port is a 10 min flat walk.

Colossus of Rhodes

We continue out of the Medieval City pass the Historical Buildings and visit the Old Harbor where according to the tradition, the Colossus of Rhodes once stood - One of the seven wonders of the ancient world. At the entrance of the old harbor, atop tall columns, stand the two bronze deer - characteristic landmarks of the island. We can help with your pictures with background the deer, one of the many significant landmarks of Rhodes

We drive to Acropolis of Rhodes (with the car no climb)

On the way you see the North point of the Island where the Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea meet. Once we come to Monte Smith - Acropolis of Rhodes Town, we stop at a vantage point for a Panoramic view of the City (get your pictures and feel the breeze of the Aegean Sea) we continue and see from a distance (get your pictures from a distance) the Temple of Apollo, the Greek Stadium, and the Ancient Theater, so you don't need to walk in

After finishing with the Highlights of Rhodes Town we drive 32 miles South East of the Island to Lindos - On the way you visit the Anthony Quinn Bay - Takes its name from the famous Hollywood actor, who owns a large property in this area. Village of Lindos

One mile before Lindos we stop at a vantage point for a panoramic picture of the Acropolis, the Village, and the Port of Lindos - Scenic

Then we drive into the Village at the main square so you can:

Option A) To walk the alleys of Lindos and climb up the Acropolis or ride the donkeys

Option B) Just explore the white village, walk the alleys of Lindos (no climb up to acropolis)

You have one hour to spend in Lindos (village and Acropolis) In case you need more time please let us know on time of booking so we can modify the tour to your needs

Acropolis of Lindos

Walk through Lindos Village and up the many steps and narrow uphill cobblestone pathways to the summit of the Acropolis to see the magnificent remains of past civilizations. Marvel at the 4th century B.C. Doric Temple of Athena Lindia, a double winged portico, a Byzantine church and the fortifications of the Knights, including the remains of the Governor’s quarters. This view is truly panoramic

Agios Pavlos Beach

Later we meet you at the main square of Lindos Village and drive you down to the Saint Paul's bay, where the apostle is said to have landed in the year 51 AD to preach Christianity to the Rhodians. From this point you can also view the cave where the film “The Guns of Navarone” was filmed - Wild Nature Landscape

On the way back the last 14km / 8 miles we drive via the coastal road of Faliraki and Kallithea. Faliraki open only during the summer season, its only purpose is to provide its visitors a vacation that they will not forget. Kallithea Springs

We continue back to Rhodes Town and pass via Kallithea. In this naturally landscaped setting, the film "Escape to Athena" with Telly Savalas and Roger Moore was filmed. Some scenes from the film "The Guns of Navarone" were also filmed here too.

Back to Rhodes Old City for independent browsing, or to the ship (or to your hotel). The Medieval City is a 10 min flat walk from the cruise port

When we arrived at port, at the end where you get on buses, a man stopped us and asked our name and pointed us directly to our driver. Stamos, our driver was a local man and was full of knowledge and stopped at every point he thought my husband might like to take a picture. He was an excellent guide, a gentleman and made us feel so comfortable. His car was extremely clean. He took us back with time to do a little shopping. You felt like you were visiting with a friend and hated to leave. It was a wonderful tour.

I booked this tour because it was advertised as fully customizable and good for first time visitors to Rhodes. After booking, I reached out to the company to inform them of my special physical needs and desire to do certain activities. The owner Nicholas responded promptly and confirmed all of my requests. I felt very comfortable that I had picked the best possible company for our tour.
Nicholas and his driver Emmanuel met us exactly on time just outside our cruise ship. Emmanuel took us on the drive in a clean and comfortable Mercedes Benz. We went to the highlights of Rhodes Island, a view from above Rhodes town, a stop at a sandy beach where I could experience the lovely Aegean waters, spectacular views of Anthony Quinn Bay, and Lindos, with a visit of Lindos town. We made a stop at a local family ceramics studio, where we enjoyed meeting such nice people and seeing their hand made designs. We mentioned to Emmanuel that we were interested in local olive oil, so we made a stop at a local vendor. At the end of our 5 hour tour, Emmanuel dropped us off inside Rhodes old town where it is actually closed to cars during the day! He really went out of his way to make it easier for me by driving us as close as possible to each highlight. Emmanuel spoke very good English and was so pleasant, knowledgeable and friendly!
We were extremely pleased with our tour in Rhodes and would enthusiastically recommend Rhodes Best Introduction to our friends, family, or anyone visiting Rhodes.

Traveling as two couples, We thoroughly enjoyed our tour through stunningly beautiful Rhodes. Our guide Andrew shared a wealth of information not only about the island and its history but about daily life in Rhodes, which we found especially fascinating. We also appreciated his flexibility in adjusting the itinerary and time schedule to accommodate our wishes.

Would have rated this 5 stars but the back seat of the Mercedes sedan was a tight fit for 3 passengers, with one riding up front. It was so cumbersome to fasten the seat belts in the back seat after each stop that we gave up and rode without them.
