What To Expect

Mandraki Harbour

Mandraki is one of the three harbours in Rhodes. It is famous, because it is believed that the great statue of Colossus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, once stood at the harbour entrance. Today the deer sculptures at the entrance, the St. Nicholas Fortress and a number of medieval windmills create a charming view of the harbour.

Lindos

Lindos is one of the most impressive archaeological sites not only in Greece but also in the world. It has traces of different civilizations. Ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine traditions blend here with the Medieval heritage of knights of the Order of Saint John. The visit to Lindos is like time travel via centuries and civilizations! If you go there, you will be delighted not only by the history but also by divine beauty. Take your time strolling lovely narrow streets of the village abundantly decorated with flowers, fruit trees, oriental tiles and small fountains. You will be impressed by incredible view of the harbours. The Acropolis of Lindos is on top of 116m cliff. For the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Knights of St John and Turks it was a wonderful strategic position. You can walk up the stairs and visit it or explore the village and its cosy bays.

We’d booked this tour because we’d read some glowing reviews and seen some awesome pictures taken by fellow-travellers. Our own tour of Rhodes did not disappoint. From the moment I made my inquiries to Dimitra, to the moment we said goodbye to our tour guide, Diana, I knew we were in good hands. At first I thought the itinerary sounded a bit heavy to us. But once I asked Dimitra several questions, all my concerns were gone. The wine tasting was a highlight, time spent in that village was especially enjoyable. The coach was clean and comfortable, and our driver was very good. The only thing I could have wished for was a longer time in Rhodes. Next time we will come by air and stay for a week at least, visiting by the cruise ship was more of a tasting of different Greek isles.

Very informative day with a great travel guide and driver. Well worth the money make sure if you're going up to the acropolis to arrive early as we only had 20 people in front of us. When we exited the que was over 200 people.
Vine yard was excellent we had another very informative talk about wine and how they produce from vine to the bottle.

Joanna & driver very efficient & friendly. I booked the Hotel Savoy as it was a pickup location but actually have to walk to the National Theatre by the marina to get picked up. An easy 5 minute walk. Lindos is super crowded even in this off season. Very touristy shops! Did not hike up to Acropolis which is 300 steps up & of course back down with no railings so I hiked up to a rooftop bar. It was 12€ extra to do the hard hike & only 3.50€ for a beer watching the hikers go up. I think my choice was more enjoyable. At Seven Springs I also decided not to do the hard hike & so did not get my sins washed away or get 10 years younger going thru the water in a dark tunnel. I could have used both! The sack lunch was adequate. Very much enjoyed all the tastings of olive oils, olives, honeys & wines!

Avoid if possible not worth the expense

Great tour guide. Lovely experiences but the transportation was a nightmare. The coach was so cramped and not air-conditioned. If you are under five foot give it a go. This was a five hour tour and I was so uncomfortable whilst on the minibus it soured the whole trip. They cancelled my first booking because there weren't enough participants which is fair enough but then being treated like a sardine was not the value for money I expected. Final thought the lunch was a sweaty roll.
